Project Overview

Chanelle Tye Equity & Inclusion seeks to create a video series to accompany an anti-oppression educational program for Capilano University (CAP U). This project is a three-part video series. Each video will be five to ten minutes long. The themes of the videos are The Importance of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Inclusive Classrooms; and Systems Change.

These educational videos will be accompanied by facilitated workshops and lesson plans and include additional learning resources which will be created by the Chanelle Tye Equity & Inclusion team. The audience for these educational videos will be CAP U staff and faculty from Fine and Applied Arts. The second phase of this project will include a campus-wide rollout of the videos to support other CAP U staff and faculty in their equity, diversity, and inclusion learning.

We are looking for a video team to create, produce, and edit the videos.

We are looking for:

  • IBPOC-only or IBPOC-led teams that are fully equipped and prepared to oversee all aspects of video production (e.g filming equipment, music, graphics, editing)

  • Demonstrated competence in anti-oppressive, intersectional, feminist theory and/or practice

  • Previous experience creating anti-oppression, intersectional, feminist videos is an asset

Your team will:

  • Collaborate with Chanelle Tye Equity & Inclusion team to co-create video resources

  • Provide your own equipment to film and produce videos

  • Be responsible for producing, filming, editing videos by March 25, 2022

  • Film interviews and shoot B-roll in North Vancouver, BC for one 1 day in March (date TBD, public health restrictions permitting)

  • Be available to pitch your idea on February 3, 2022, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. PST

  • Attend monthly meetings (or as needed) with the Chanelle Tye Equity & Inclusion team

  • Be vaccinated against COVID-19, follow strict COVID-protocols on filming day, be able to produce a vaccine passport to be scanned on filming day

Proposal

Your pitch should include your experience creating anti-oppression content and links to one or two examples of videos you’ve created in the past. The deadline to submit a proposal is January 28 2022, at 11:59 PM PST.

Successful teams will be asked to pitch your idea to the Chanelle Tye Equity & Inclusion team on February 3, 2022.
